  1. Your domain should reflect your business name, products you offer, or topics your site will cover.

  2. Try .net and .org extensions — they're as well-known as .com, but you'll have more options.

  3. If your first choice isn't available, try rearranging the word order or using abbreviations.

  4. For variety, add hyphens or words such as online, store, the, or shop to your business name.
To transfer your domain to Yahoo!:
  1. Enter your domain name and select your domain extension, then complete your order.

  2. Contact your current domain registrar for your authorization code or registry key (we'll let you know which one you need).

  3. After you complete your order, we'll ask you to verify your email address, then enter your authorization code or registry key to complete the transfer.
